This Manual of Standardized Details for the Construction of Houses and Small Buildings was prepared by Mr. Emil Trotman B.Sc. (Civil Eng.), Diploma, MBAPE, Director of Building Standards Authority in order to assist building standards officers (building inspectors ) of the Building Standards Authority, contractors , artisans and prospective homeowners with the provision of suitable standardized details for construction of traditional Barbadian houses and small buildings so that they will be resilient to the effects of hurricanes and earthquakes and to comply with the requirements of the Part 5 of the Barbados National Building Code. This Manual is also appropriate for the use in other jurisdictions where appropriate.
