BRIDGE MAINTENANCE CONTINUES ALONG HIGHWAY 2A

The Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) is advising road users that maintenance work will be conducted on seven bridges along Highway 2A starting Saturday, July 12, 2025.

St. Mark’s Trucking and Well Digging will begin pressure washing the Mile & a Quarter Bridge in St. Peter from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During this time, single lane traffic will be in effect around the worksite. Motorists should expect some delays and are encouraged to slow down and proceed with caution. Persons are also advised to follow the direction of traffic wardens or signs. This work is expected to continue until Sunday, August 3, 2025, pending adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances.

In addition to the Mile and a Quarter Bridge, maintenance will be carried out on the Portvale/Blowers Bridge, Lancaster Bridge, Westmoreland Bridge, Kellmans/St. Boniface Bridge, Warleigh/Whim Bridge, and the White Hall Bridge.

The pressure washing is part of MTW’s ongoing bridge maintenance plan, which recently saw the underside of bridges being debushed and several guard rails being replaced or repaired on bridges along Highway 2A. The MTW team has been conducting bridge assessments and inspections as it seeks to improve the safety and longevity of bridge infrastructure.

MTW and St. Marks Trucking and Well Digging apologise for the inconvenience and thank businesses, residents, and motorists for their understanding and cooperation.
