Responsible for the management of all vehicle and driver licence services.

Responsible for maintaining stormwater infrastructure along public roads and watercourses.

Provides technical design advice about architecture, land surveying, traffic management, and planning and development.

Carries out electrical inspections of residential, commercial and industrial electrical installations.

Responsible for managing the communications with the Ministry’s internal and external audience

Oversees the legal and regulatory requirements of the Ministry of Transport and Works.

Comprises 13 depots strategically located across the island. It also houses the Ministry’s Laboratory, the Paving Unit, the Tree Trimming Unit and the Utility Coordination Section.

Carrying out infrastructure development works such as bridge construction, redesigning dangerous junctions, and the erection of critical infrastructure.

The Building Standards Authority is responsible for informing the Director of the Planning and Development Department of the requirements of the 2013 Barbados National Building Code.
