The Town Planning Unit of the Ministry of Transport and Works assesses planning applications for residential and commercial/industrial developments:
Assess and comment on town planning applications based on MTW regulatory policies
Assists with drafts for subdivision of property and lands by providing critical feedback
Provides critical comments about access, drainage and parking for commercial properties
Regulates statutory planning lines. The unit addresses issues of encroachment on the statutory lines which are the Building Line and the Road Reserve Line. In addition, the section is consulted with regard to the creation of vehicular access/egress points onto highways and all other classified roads for residential and commercial/industrial developments.
Verify that applicants have satisfactorily completed road and drainage works prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Compliance.
Conducts investigations regarding all the above
Issues banner approvals for charitable and national events.
