Traffic Management Section

The Traffic Management Section is responsible for monitoring the flow of traffic on the island’s road and maintaining road safety infrastructure.

Collects and manages traffic data by conducting turning movement surveys and automatic traffic counts
Installs, maintains and replaces road furniture such as signs, speed humps, mirrors, and road markings
Provides permissions to conduct private activities on public roads
Create alternate routes when there are road closures

Speed Humps and Mirrors

If you believe your street requires speed humps or mirrors, you can submit a request to the Chief Technical Officer stating the traffic safety issue, and the Ministry will investigate and implement the appropriate changes.

Road Use Permission

To request permission to use a road for an event such as a sponsored walk, hike, race, carnival, or to film a movie, email roaduserequest@publicworks.gov.bb

Your request should include the location, date, time, approximate number of persons, route, if applicable, and contact information. These requests should also be copied to the Commissioner of Police.

Signage Reports/Requests

If a road name sign or a regulatory sign such as a stop sign, keep left sign, etc. is missing or required, please report it to cto@publicworks.gov.bb. The ministry does not grant permission for advertising signs to be installed.
