RENEWABLE ENERGY INSTALLATIONS

GEED also facilitates electrical inspections for Renewable Energy installations.

The following documents must be submitted

  • Application for inspection of an electrical installation

  • One single-line diagram outlining the components of the systems, the cable sizes used, and the rating of the protection device incorporated in the design

  • Specification sheets of the Inverters, Batteries, and PV Panels

Forms can also be collected from the GEED’s front desk at Verona House, Bank Hall, St. Michael. Please note that the application can only be facilitated by a licensed electrician. 

Cost of an Inspection

  • Domestic/Resident inspection is $3.00 (basic fee), plus 0.25c per point
  • Commercial inspection is $25.00 (basic fee), plus 0.50c per point

Payment

Inspection fees are paid at the Cashier’s window, Ministry of Transport and Works, Pine East-West Boulevard, The Pine, St. Michael. Completed forms should be submitted at the same time payment is made.
