Information Unit

The Information Unit of the Ministry of Transport and Works is the department that bridges the gap between the public and the Ministry. It is responsible for managing the communications with the Ministry’s internal and external audience. It also coordinates and facilitates public educational campaigns related to MTW’s work.

The three-member team comprises a Senior Information Officer, an Information Officer and a Photographer, and together they document and disseminate important information about the Ministry’s projects and daily roadworks and drainage activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SERVICES

Assists the Legal Unit by providing pictorial evidence for compensation claims
Assists the public with queries and the resolution of issues and concerns
Conducts crisis communications management
Coordinates media-related events on behalf of the ministry
Crafts strategic communication and public education campaigns and messages
Documents of the stages of ministry projects in video and photo format for archival, education, legal, and publicity purposes
Educates the public about drainage, road safety, and other procedures that require the public to interact with the Ministry
Engages, and liaises with the media, and monitors media coverage

Facilitates internal communication and employee engagement activities
Manages, monitors, and produces content for the Ministry’s social media pages
Produces content for dissemination across traditional and new media channels; this content includes press releases, photos, television and radio programmes, and public service announcements
Produces publications for commemorative activities and events
Produces the weekly roadworks and drainage update, which is published every Monday
Provides multimedia coverage of ministry projects and events
