Community Access Road Transformation

The Community Access Road Transformation (CART Project was launched in 2023 to transform earthen or “cart” roads into conventional surface roads using milling material from the airport’s runway.


Scores of cart roads in urban and rural districts across Barbados will be upgraded. The improved road surface will allow residents to have better access from the main roads to their homes.
