Repairs done to culvert in Mount Standfast; road users urged to proceed with care as concrete cures

The broken top slab of a culvert in Mount Standfast, St. James has been repaired. However, it will take approximately 28 days for the concrete to cure.

A team from the Prospect Depot of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) carried out the work this week on Monday and Tuesday. The area has been cordoned off with cans and rubble to prevent motorists and pedestrians from crossing on the curing concrete.

During this time, motorists are advised to slow down on approach to the cordoned off section, which is an estimated 30 metres north of the St. Francis Assisi Roman Catholic Church.

A team from the Prospect Depot is scheduled to return to Mount Standfast next week to repair manhole covers along the sidewalks. MTW thanks residents and road users for their patience and cooperation.
