The Barbados Licensing Authority (BLA) will open two tint testing sites on Monday, September 8, 2025, located in Granny’s Car Park, Oistins, Christ Church, and the National Cultural Foundation Car Park, West Terrace, St. James.
Vehicle owners are encouraged to visit either testing site any day from Monday to Saturday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., to have the tint on their vehicles tested during the ongoing three-month moratorium on the enforcement of the newly implemented tint regulations.
According to Section 5 a, b and c of the Road Traffic Act CAP. 295 – Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles) (Windscreens and Windows) Regulations 2025, the following Visible Light Transmission is allowed for vehicles:
- Front windscreen: 70%
- Windows on side and front of the vertical plane immediately behind the driver’s seat: 25%
- Rear windscreen and other windows: 20%
- A margin of error of three percentage points will be allowed during tint testing.
The BLA encourages all vehicle owners to take advantage of the testing period to ensure that their vehicles comply with the new regulations.
