On Tuesday September 16, 2025, the Tree Trimming Unit of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) in collaboration with the Roving Response Team, the Barbados Light & Power (BL&P) and the Department of Emergency Management (DEM), will be trimming a large tree in 2nd Avenue, Hoytes Village, St. James, which has been deemed a tipping hazard.
Due to the nature of the work and to safely trim the tree, the road will be closed between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with local access only. Motorists and pedestrians can expect delays and are encouraged to follow the directions and instructions of the safety wardens on site.
