Operations at the Inspection Bay of the Barbados Licensing Authority (BLA) have been improved as the two mechanical hoists are now fully functioning at its Pine location, the Pine St. Michael. This is expected to bring a resolution to the issue that created a backlog in vehicle inspections in recent weeks.
Vehicle Examiner, Antonio Thomas disclosed that while one of the two hoists at the BLA’s, Pine headquarters had been out of service, resulting in the backlog, repairs to the hoist were completed over the weekend and the equipment is now back in use.
Meanwhile, BLA’s customer Denis Lashley, said he was very pleased with the smooth and speedy service when he visited the BLA to have a vehicle inspected this morning.
The BLA also disclosed that two more mechanical hoists are on order to ensure inspections are completed in as expeditious a manner as possible. (PR/MTW)
