ROAD WORKS ACTIVITIES FOR FEBRUARY 16 – 20, 2026

Road Marking

The day crew of the Road Marking section of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) will install fingertip signs and mirrors and repair damaged signs, Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., weather permitting. The night crew will remark the pedestrian crossings on Highway 1, from Holetown, St. James to Black Rock, St. Michael. while Pine East/West Boulevard will be remarked. This work will be carried out, Monday to Thursday between 6:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to avoid speeding through work areas while road markings and other works are being done, as this endangers the lives the lives of workers and damages the freshly painted road markings.

Ongoing road works

Christ Church – In Lower Greys (near Yorkshire Road) repairs to a headwall and footpath also continue. Debushing and drainage works are planned for Chancery Lane and Goodland Gardens. Pothole patching will be carried out in Plumgrove, Montrose Gardens, Inch Marlow, Enterprise Coast Road, Kingsland Gardens, Charnocks and Regency Park.

St. George – Weeding in Fairview Crescent and Belair #2. The masonry crew began culvert repairs in Locust Hall while work continues in Valley View where speed humps are being constructed. Pothole patching will be carried out in Melverton and Thorpes Cottages.

St. John – Weeding will be done in Haynes Hill while debushing is to be carried out at Kendal and Malvern. Masonry works are continuing in Cherry Grove and Malvern. Pothole patching is scheduled for Edgecliff, Clifton Hall and Colleton.

St. Philip – Manual weeding is being done in Ruby Development while manhole and culvert reconstruction continues at Leadvale and Four Road. Slipper and kerb construction is occurring at Eastbourne and Cox Hill.  Pothole patching throughout the districts.

St. Lucy – Drainage works and debushing will be carried out at Maycocks while storm water grills will be installed at Husbands. Pothole patching is scheduled for Josey Hill, Free Hill, Mount Gay and Alexandra.

St. Peter – Concrete works are being carried out at Rose Hill and Retreat Road while weeding and debushing are being done at Collins, Tom Bend Road and Jupiter Gardens. Drainage works are also being done at Heywoods Estate. Pothole patching will be done in Farm Road, Miller Road and Niles Road. Farm Bridge remains closed until further notice. Access to the Ronald Mapp Highway from Speightstown, and vice versa, is through Warleigh Road.  

St. Thomas – The footpath and retaining wall at Stoney Gully have been completed, and preparation for paving continues. Clean up of slipper and kerb coming from the Mangrove landfill. Pothole patching will be carried out in Arthur Seat, Melrose, Padmore Village and a section of the Highway 2A.

St. James – Concrete works (manholes and footpaths) along Highway 1 – Road View and Paynes Bay. Debushing of bridges along Ronald Mapp Highway while drainage works will be carried out at Trents, Sunset Crest, Holetown and Vauxhall. Pothole patching to be done along Highway 1, Bennett Road, Oxnard Crescent.

St. Michael – The construction of the slipper and kerb in Clapham resumes while in My Lord’s Hill the footpath was repaired and is currently curing. Construction of a bounce up will be completed this week in Parkinson Field, The Pine. On the Mighty Grynner Highway, just outside of Central Purchasing, repairs to a section of the road which sunk, are mostly completed. This area will soon be patched. In Grazettes, in the vicinity of the primary school, work on concrete bollards, to be installed, is on hold.

St. Joseph – Debushing will be carried out in Bloomsbury while pothole patching will be done in Blackmans Tenantry, Branchbury and Cotton Tower.

St. Andrew – Masonry work is being done at Brucevale and Coggins Hill. Road repairs continue at Trio Path and road reinstatement at Lakes Village.  Road construction continues in Swanns. Persons are reminded not to drive on Swanns Bridge, which has been closed due to deterioration. Motorists and public transportation can now use Springfield to Newton Crescent bypass road during the closure of Melvin Hill bridge.
