Cane Garden to Bridgefield and Shop Hill to Content in St. Thomas are earmarked for road reconstruction Ahead of the work, Hangman Hill in the central parish will be extensively patched as it has been identified as a temporary diversion route. Reece Road, which is undergoing construction, is also expected to be completed.

Deputy Prime Minister of Barbados and Minister of Transport and Works, Santia Bradshaw made the disclosure on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, following a technical tour with officials from the Ministry of Transport and Works and consultant engineers. The Ministry is taking a “design and build” approach to the construction of both roads.

Minister Bradshaw also visited Prior Park Road in St. James and was pleased with the progress of work.

Prior Park Road, Cane Garden to Bridgefield, and Shop Hill to Content are being done under MTW’s CAF Programme which is funded by the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Barbados Licensing Authority introduces Commercial Registration Plates

Signage contractors and manufacturers in Barbados are being given the opportunity to bid on producing and installing approximately 20,000 direction and location signs for the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW).

The work will be done under the second phase of the National Signage and Street Infrastructure Project (NSSIP). In this episode of Transport and Works in Motion, we take a look at the NSSIP.

Transport & Works in Motion - The National Signage & Street Infrastructure Project

The Ministry of Transport and Works in Barbados continues to improve roads on the island.

In this programme, we look at done under the Road Rehabilitation and Improving Connectivity of Road Infrastructure Project funded by the Inter-American Development Bank, as well as work done under the Scotland District Road Rehabilitation Project, which is funded by the EXIM Bank of China.
