Rehabilitation of Eagle Hall Road, St.  Michael starts Tuesday, June 10, 2025

The Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) will start road rehabilitation on Eagle Hall Road, from the traffic lights in Eagle Hall to the traffic lights at the intersection of Lower Bank Hall and Bank Hall Cross Road in St. Michael, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

The work will be done at night from 8:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for approximately eight weeks by Infra Construction Inc., under MTW’s Focused Road Works Programme.

During these times, the road will be closed, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes. The closure will also affect Transport Board buses and Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), which travel along the Eagle Hall to Bank Hall route.

To accommodate public transport during these times, buses and PSVs will be diverted as follows:

  • From Eagle Hall: buses and PSVs will turn right onto Barbarees Hill, left onto Passage Road, left onto Bank Hall Road, and finally turn right at Lower Bank Hall (Sobers Corner) to proceed on their regular route.
  • From Bank Hall (Sobers Corner): buses will turn left onto Lower Bank Hall Road, turn right onto Passage Road, turn right onto Barbarees Hill, and then left at Eagle Hall to proceed on their normal route.

This bypass route is intended to minimise the disruption where possible. Therefore, commuters are advised to use bus stops along Barbarees Hill, Eagle Hall and Bank Hall Cross Road.

The scope of work for Eagle Hall Road includes excavation, deep milling, and repairs to sidewalks, slippers, and kerbs, followed by paving of the road surface. This marks Phase 1 of plans to upgrade the road from Eagle Hall to Eastmond Corner. Phase 2 will be from Lower Bank Hall to Eastmond Corner; the start date will be released at a later date.

MTW and Infra Construction Inc. apologise for the inconvenience and thank businesses, residents, and motorists for their patience and cooperation.
