UPDATE ON REECE ROAD ST. THOMAS – WORK SOON COMPLETED

Paving has been completed on Reece Road in St. Thomas, however, drainage work is still being undertaken.

The Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) began work on Reece Road, St. Thomas in April 2024 under the Scotland District Road Rehabilitation Programme, in conjunction with the contractor The China National Complete Plant Import and Export Corporation (COMPLANT), and its subcontractor Natron Inc.

Reece Road is one of the over 15 ongoing road construction projects being carried by COMPLANT. The 685-metre long road underwent a complete reconstruction with the aim of improving drainage as well as the road’s durability and longevity.

Since it is a secondary road, it is 4.8 metres wide which is the standard width for these types of roads. In addition to utility upgrades, slipper and kerb was built and the road now has three suck wells and one natural soak away.

MTW continues to thank residents, businesses, and road users for their cooperation and understanding as the road construction of Reece Road nears completion. (PR/MTW)
