Road Marking
The day crew of the Road Marking section of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) will be remarking school crossings in various parishes across the island. The work will be carried out from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.
The night crew of the Road Marking section will also continue the remarking of school crossings in St. Lucy, St. Peter and St. James. This work will be carried out from Monday to Thursday, between 6:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., weather permitting.
Motorists are urged to avoid speeding through work areas while road markings and other works are being done, as this endangers the lives the lives of workers and damages the freshly painted road markings.

Ongoing road works
Christ Church – Masonry work will continue at Parish Land, where a bus stop and retaining wall are being repaired. On Callenders Court, repairs to swale and road entrance to commence while a road hump is being installed in Durants Green. Debushing and drainage works will be carried out at Water Street, Goodland Gardens and Gibbons Bogg. Pothole patching will be carried out at Chancery Lane, Long Beach, Montrose, Banantyne, Breedy Land, Silver Hill, Lodge Road and Durants.
St. Michael – Manhole repairs on the Mighty Grynner Highway, Roebuck Street, My Lords Hill and Harts Gap and Highway 7. Drain cleaning will be carried out throughout Bridgetown. Preparations for the Crop Over Festival continues along The Mighty Grynner Highway, where wooden planks will be placed over open drains on the Princess Alice Highway and slippers are being cleaned. Pothole patching will be done in New Orleans, Dayrell’s Road, Golf Club Road, Bayland and Highway7 – Worthing , Hastings and Bay Street.
St. George – Weeding is taking place in Crawford Road and Market Hill going towards St. Helens while masonry work will continue in Workmans, where a retaining wall is being reconstructed. Pothole patching in Newbury going towards St. Judes.
St. John – Weeding will be done in Gall Hill No. 3, while debushing takes place at Malvern and Church View. Masonry work in Malvern and Cherry Grove also continues. Pothole patching to be done in Lemon Arbor, Pool Main Road, Small Town, Gall Hill, Clifton Hall, Edgecliff, Venture, Sherbourne and Wakefield.
St. Andrew/St. Joseph – Drain cleaning Blackmans Development, Lammings, Tent Bay, Gaggs Hill and St. Elizabeth. Masonry works (conversion of steps to a ramp) at Ginger Works, Horse Hill.
St. Peter – Drainage work at Castle while masonry work to be done at Rose Hill. Weeding in Boscobelle Terrace while debushing will be carried out in Jupiter Gardens and Maynards Development. Drainage works to be done in Ashton and Tom Bend Road. Pothole patching will be done in Indian Ground, Four Hill, Orange Hill and Sailor Gully. Farm Bridge remains closed until further notice. Access to the Ronald Mapp Highway from Speightstown, and vice versa, is through Warleigh Road.
St. Philip – Masonry work (culvert construction) in Cox Hill. Manual weeding will occur at C.H Best Road while manual debushing will take place at Pounders Road, Padmore Village and Diamond Valley. Pothole patching will be carried out throughout the district.
St. Lucy – Debushing is being carried out at Lamberts and Alexandra while drainage works will be carried out at 7th and 8th Avenue Maycocks Terrace. Pothole patching is scheduled for Lamberts, Mount Gay and Alexandra.
St. Thomas – Construction of road edge at Hangman Hill, while grill cleaning will take place at Highway 2A (Below Tavern), Warrens Hill, Jackson, Canefield and Hillaby. There will also be removal of drainage material in Welches Terrace. Preparation of road edge at Stoney Gully continue. Hot mix patching will occur at Shop Hill, Jackson, Arthur Seat and Sturges.
St. James – Concrete works (manholes and footpaths) continue along Highway 1 – Road View and Fitts Village. Debushing continues along the Ronald Mapp Highway – Haymans and Bakers. Pothole patching to be done on Chapel Gap, Arch Hall and Durants Village.
