Work on 1st and 2nd Avenues Rouen Road, off Rouen Road, My Lords Hill, St. Michael, commenced on Friday, June 6, 2025, under the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) Focus Road Works programme.
The original scope of work involved milling the existing road surface to a depth of 50mm and repaving, with an estimated completion time of approximately two weeks.
However, the scope of work has been revised due to the discovery of unsuitable material below the surface of the asphalt. As a result, the contractor, Infra Construction Inc., will now excavate to remove and replace the unsuitable material. The excavated areas will then be backfilled, and the roadway will be resurfaced with asphalt.
As a result, the construction period has been revised to eight weeks, and work will be done daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Although the road will be closed, local access will be maintained. Residents and road users should expect some delays and proceed with caution. MTW and Infra Construction Inc. apologise for the inconvenience and thank persons for their understanding and cooperation.
