Road rehabilitation along Highway C in Orange Hill in St. James is progressing steadily since work commenced in April this year, under the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) Scotland District Road Rehabilitation Programme.
Work is being carried out in phases, and is executed by the China National Complete Plant Import and Export Corporation (COMPLANT) Limited, and its subcontractor Infra Construction Inc.
Under phase 1, work on the 1.4 kilometres of roadway includes the construction of sidewalks, kerbs, box drains, and suckwells.
At present, the road is not closed for the rehabilitation but motorists and road users are urged to drive carefully and proceed with caution when traversing through the work site.
Highway C, along Orange Hill, St. James, is one of 16 active projects currently underway in the Scotland District Road Rehabilitation Programme.
