Road Marking
The night crew of the Road Marking section of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) will remark areas in and around the City, – Bay Street, St. Michael’s Row and River Road and other areas. They will also repaint Tom Adam roundabout on the ABC Highway, Lower Estate junction, St. George and Belle Road to Canewood junction, St. Michael. The crew will also install reflective studs (cat eyes) from the roundabout located in front of the Grantley Adams International Airport roundabout to the Tom Adams roundabout, from the Airport roumdabout to Rock Hall junction to Kirtons junction, St. Philip. This work will be carried out from Monday to Thursday between 6:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., weather permitting.
Motorists are urged to avoid speeding through work areas while road markings and other works are being done, as this endangers the lives the lives of workers and damages the freshly painted road markings.

Ongoing road works
Christ Church – Repairs to the culvert at Leadvale and Pilgrim Road continues while debushing and drainage works are planned for Ealing Park, Silver Sands and Gibbons Bogg. Pothole patching will be carried out in Coverley Development, Bannantyne, Gibbons Main Road, Elizabeth Park, Inch Marlow, Fairy Valley and Newton Terrace.
St. George – Weeding continues in Fairwiew and Bridge Cot while the masonry crew will be working along Possum Bridge. Drainage work is being done in Flat Rock while pothole patching will be carried out in Melverton, Thorpes Cottages and Palm Road.
St. John – Weeding will be done in Cliff Cottage while debushing will be carried out at Venture and Sealy Land. Masonry works are continuing in Cherry Grove and Malvern. Pothole patching is scheduled for Sealy Hall, Clifton Hall and Colleton.
St. Philip – Manual weeding is being done in Ruby Development while manhole and culvert reconstruction continues at Leadvale and Four Road. Slipper and kerb construction is occurring at Eastbourne and Cox Hill. Pothole patching throughout the districts.
St. Lucy – Masonry work is being carried out at Round Rock. Drainage works will be carried out at Maycocks Terrace while debushing will be done at Chance Hall. Pothole patching is scheduled for Josey Hill and Mount Gay to Lamberts.
St. Peter – Weeding and debushing in Boscobelle, Mount #2 and Tom Bend. Drainage works in Heywoods and Golden Mile while concrete works are being carried out at KNR Husbands Highway. Pothole patching will be done in Rose Hill, Diamond Corner, Welchtown, Douglas Development and The Rock. Farm Bridge remains closed until further notice. Access to the Ronald Mapp Highway from Speightstown, and vice versa, is through Warleigh Road.
St. Thomas – The footpath and retaining wall at Stoney Gully have been completed, and preparation for paving continues. Clean up of slipper and kerb coming from the Mangrove landfill also continues. Pothole patching will be carried out in Rock Hall, Canefield and Arch Hall.
St. James – Concrete works (manholes and footpaths) continue along Highway 1 – Road View and Paynes Bay while a bounce up will be constructed in Husbands Gardens. Debushing continues along Ronald Mapp Highway while drainage works also continues on Highway 1. Pothole patching to be done along Laynes Road, Trents Tenantry, Chapel Gap 1, West Terrace and Wanstead Main Road.
St. Michael – Manhole covers have been replaced in Coleridge Street, The City and are going through the curing process while the manhole repairs in Crumpton Street have also been completed and the concrete is also curing. Repairs to a damaged culvert in Jackson is completed. Construction of the slipper and kerb in Clapham is on hold.
St. Andrew/St. Joseph – Masonry work is being done at Brucevale and Coggins Hill. Road repairs continue at Trio Path and road reinstatement at Lakes Village. Road construction continues in Swanns. Persons are reminded not to drive on Swanns Bridge, which has been closed due to deterioration. Motorists and public transportation can now use Springfield to Newton Crescent bypass road during the closure of Melvin Hill bridge.
