ROAD WORKS ACTIVITIES FOR APRIL 7 – 10, 2026

Road Marking

The night crew of the Road Marking section of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) will install reflective studs (cat eyes) in Roebuck Street, The City – from James Tudor Roundabout to the junction near the Police Headquarters and the four-cross junctions in The Ivy, St, Michael. They will also repaint the pedestrian crossings in Oistins, Christ Church and remark areas in and around the City, – Bay Street, St. Michael’s Row and River Road and other areas. The crew will repaint Tom Adams roundabout on the ABC Highway, Lower Estate junction, St. George and Belle Road to Canewood junction, St. Michael. This work will be carried out from Monday to Thursday between 6:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., weather permitting.
 

Motorists are urged to avoid speeding through work areas while road markings and other works are being done, as this endangers the lives the lives of workers and damages the freshly painted road markings.

Ongoing road works

Christ Church – Repairs to the culvert at Leadvale continue while the construction of slipper and kerb commences in Maxwell. Debushing and drainage works are planned for Ealing Park, Hopewell and Gibbons Bogg. Pothole patching will be carried out in Lowlands, Dash Gap, Warners, Lodge Road, Bannantyne and Long Beach.

St. George – Weeding continues in Workmans and Newbury while the masonry crew will be working in St. Helens. Debushing is being done in Boarded Hall while  pothole patching will be carried out throughout the districts.

St. JohnWeeding will be done in Colleton Gardens while mechanical debushing will be carried out at Venture, Mount Tabor and Wakefield. Masonry works are continuing in Cherry Grove and Malvern. Pothole patching is scheduled for Claybury, Wilson Hill and Venture.

St. Philip – Manhole and culvert reconstruction continues at Leadvale and Four Roads. Slipper and kerb construction continues at Eastbourne and Cox Hill.  Pothole patching throughout the districts.

St. Lucy – Debushing is being carried out at Lamberts while drainage works will be carried out at Maycocks Terrace. Pothole patching is scheduled for Lamberts, Mount Gay and Alexandra.

St. Peter – Weeding and debushing in Boscobelle and Tom Bend Road. Concrete works are being carried out at Ashton Hall (Highway 1). Pothole patching will be done in Miller Road, Farm Road, Niles Road, Lonesome Hill and The Rock. Farm Bridge remains closed until further notice. Access to the Ronald Mapp Highway from Speightstown, and vice versa, is through Warleigh Road.  

St. Thomas – The footpath and retaining wall at Stoney Gully have been completed, and preparation for paving continues. Debushing in Bucks, Rock Hall and Vaucluse. Drainage work is being done in Porey Spring, Content, Melrose and Sharon. Pothole patching is being carried out in Stoney Gully, Vaucluse, Melrose, Arthur Seat, Sharon, Jackson, Lewis Village, Lion Castle and Dukes.

St. James – Concrete works (manholes and footpaths) continue along Highway 1 – Road View and Fitts Village. Debushing continues along the Ronald Mapp Highway – Haymans and Bakers. Pothole patching to be done on Warleigh Road, Mullins Road, Chapel Gap, Arch Hall and Durants Village.

St. Michael – Section of road in Westbury Road near the cementry wall has been milled and is still awaiting patching. Debushing is ongoing and a section of the retaining wall will also be repaired on Westbury Road. Repairs to manholes are being done throughout Bridgetown. My Lords Hill and Harts Gap. Pothole patching will be done throughout the districts.

St. Andrew/St. Joseph –. Debushing, weeding, concrete works and drainage work are being done in St. Elizabeth Village, Cox Hill and Lammings Housing Area. Pothole patching will be done in Easy Hall, Mc Collins Bridge and sections of Highway 3.
